Over the years I have heard about every complaint inn the business radio market. From “I don’t like the color,” to “It makes me sound like an elf”. With that being said, there are 4 basic complaints that seem to hamper our competition. Best Security Industries and Blue Star Radios eliminates these issues.
1. Weight / Size This is the main complaint in the business radio market. The 1980’s technology that permeates the industry is seen in the “brick” radio mentality. The average radio weight is 15oz. Almost a pound. We have heard “they pull my pants down”, “they tear my clothes”, “they stretch my belt out” etc… The dimensions are also a factor. Weather you are trying to be covert or give a professional impression to your customers, having a giant radio hanging off your clothes is not the way to do it. 2. Battery life The advent of the Lithium Ion battery has helped in this arena, but the quality of the battery is what counts. Batteries will begin life with an average talk time of 8 hours. Within a year, that talk time usually dropped 15-25%. As the use goes on, that percentage continues to drop. BSI’s Blue Star Radios utilize a Military Grade Lithium Ion battery. 3. Charge time If you use your radios daily and they are in demand, it’s important to be able to charge quickly. As the #2 issue arises, you will need to charge more. The “other guys” standard charger will give their radios a full charge in 8 hours. You can purchase a rapid charger at additional cost so you can charge in 2-3 hours. 4. Ear Pieces This item has long been a complaint focus. The “Detachable Technology” involves a 1-wire that includes the mic, and a removable earpiece. This ear piece can be personally fitted and given to each employee. The employee will now have an ear piece that is their own. It will fit and will be hygienic to them. This also saves the employer money, by only having to buy each employee an ear piece, not the entire wire kit.

Blue Star Radios minimal size and weight helps L.P.
As we introduced the Blue Star BR1000 Business Radio to the Loss Prevention market, we assumed we would have success. We were not prepared for the overwhelming response to our BR1000 radio. After many tests of this radio in L.P. departments across the country, we have found out the reasons for our success.
After many conversations with L.P. personnel we found a few common themes to their complaints. Their current radios were so big and bulky that they were hard to hide. The current radios batteries were poorly constructed and would only hold a charge for a minimum of time. The radios would not charge quickly so the department would have the expense of many back up radios. The weight of the radios would damage clothing and reduce the locations staff could wear them.
After testing the Blue Star radios, our customers realized that the BR1000 answers all of those complaints.
